Role Overview
This position supports activities related to process automation systems. The role includes preventative maintenance and round-the-clock troubleshooting support for existing systems. The aim is to minimize plant downtime due to automation system failures while ensuring services are both cost-effective and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot process automation systems, including their networks and interfaces.
- Provide corrective support in response to system errors or failures, acting as the first point of escalation.
- Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health assessments on systems.
- Participate in software and hardware upgrades.
- Adhere to established Dow Process Automation work processes, including Problem Resolution and Request Management.
- Complete small project tasks, including system installation, configuration, design, and development.
- Track and redeploy assets as necessary.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points and other support resources.
- Collaborate with plant personnel on troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Monitor system diagnostics in alignment with process control staff.
- Engage in risk assessments for system-related activities.
- Escalate issues to additional support resources and follow up as needed.
Qualifications
- A Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (e.g., Associate's Degree) in Electronics, Instrumentation, IT, Networking, or a related field, along with experience in process control or manufacturing preferred. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
