About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at 087 FLSmidth S.A. as an Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation systems, including safety systems and standard PLC architecture, SCADA, and MIMIC development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, including factory/site acceptance testing and project review meetings.
  • Develop and implement design standards, guides, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in our automation engineering projects.
  • Oversee the evaluation and selection of components, technologies, and suppliers to optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in electrical and controls engineering, and incorporate relevant innovations into our projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation engineering.
  • Proven experience in successful project delivery, with technical expertise in electrical, instrumentation, and machine controls system design, PLC programming, industrial automation, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and knowledge of international safety standards, such as ISO-13577, AS-3814, IEC61511, and HFPA 85/86.
  • Programming and testing experience with Rockwell/Siemens/Schneider PLC and safety systems, as well as experience with industrial protocols like Modbus, Ethernet, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, DeviceNet, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of ACAD/E Plan and similar tools, and relevant site installation and commissioning experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, as well as project management skills, including experience with project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
