The Finance Team for Southern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America is seeking a Project Financial Analyst who will oversee the Iberian region, specifically Spain and Portugal. This role is integral to the regional Project Controlling team and reports directly to the Head of Project Controlling.

The Project Financial Analyst collaborates closely with Project Managers to mitigate commercial risks associated with projects while enhancing revenue and cash flow. Additionally, this position works alongside the Collections Manager regarding project-level accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, report, and provide insights on the financial status of projects.
  • Proactively initiate timely and precise invoicing in accordance with customer contracts and established global procedures.
  • Serve as a business partner to Project and Line Managers by leading regular financial reviews of individual projects and project portfolios.
  • Ensure revenue recognition aligns with DMS principles (such as Percentage of Completion and time and material principles) and project accounting standards (including matching and accrual principles, as well as accurate profit margin recognition throughout the project lifecycle).
  • Analyze and critically assess inputs from Project Managers and Line Management as necessary, including proactive follow-ups regarding change orders.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with all Project Managers to assist in their project management efforts, including initial reviews of expenditure details and directing Project Administrators to make necessary revisions.

In addition to daily responsibilities, the role includes managing or assisting with project financial records, actively monitoring projects to ensure timely completion and closure, and overseeing Work in Progress (WIP) to guarantee future collectability while taking proactive measures to minimize risks. The position also involves analyzing projects for high-risk elements and informing business controllers when needed, as well as conducting timely reviews of opportunities and bids in accordance with authority limits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Up to 6 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in project controlling.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI and Excel.
