Job Title: Drives Field Service Technician

At ABB, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drives Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for executing onsite service work, commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits of ABB drives and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform onsite service tasks, including commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits of ABB drives and other equipment.
  • Ensure that Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices are of high standard, and work to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs and providing specialist assistance and solutions.
  • Report work done in a timely manner, including technical reports, material used, timesheets, and travel expenses.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and take corrective actions, troubleshoot complex equipment failures, and make recommendations to avoid future problems.
  • Make suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements, and discuss them with the team.
Requirements:
  • Educational background in Electrical/Electronic engineering or Professional Module (FP2).
  • Deep knowledge of AC/DC drives technology.
  • Sound knowledge (more than 5 years of experience) of and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing ABB or other brand Drives for different types of industries and applications.
  • Knowledge of industrial communications is highly appreciated.
  • Proven experience in technical remote support using digital tools.
  • Results-oriented, active listening, and empathy for interaction with customers.
  • Current car driving license (type B) valid in Spain, as well as specific VISA/work permit for Spain.
  • Fluent in Spanish and good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
What We Offer:

Frequent domestic traveling will be required, as the role will require hands-on support at customer sites. Very punctual international traveling might also be required for training purposes or special customers/projects.
