Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Drives Field Service Technician to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for executing onsite service work, including commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits, as well as providing remote technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute onsite service work, including commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits, according to work instructions and ABB processes.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers, using digital tools and following ABB's safety guidelines.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, meeting customer needs while maintaining good relationships.
  • Work with other teams to identify new service business opportunities and convince clients to take the complete service portfolio.
  • Perform onsite service tasks, such as commissioning of equipment, diagnostics, and repairs, while ensuring high standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices.
  • Report work done, including technical reports, material used, timesheets, and travel expenses, in a timely manner and follow up when needed.
  • Identify potential equipment failures, take corrective actions, and make recommendations to avoid future problems.
  • Make suggestions for product, quality, and customer service improvements and discuss them with the team.
Requirements
  • Educational background in Electrical/Electronic engineering or Professional Module (FP2).
  • Deep knowledge of AC/DC drives technology and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing ABB or other brand drives.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial communications and proven experience in technical remote support using digital tools.
  • Results-oriented, active listening, and empathy for interaction with customers.
  • Current car driving license (type B) valid in Spain and specific VISA/work permit for Spain.
  • Fluent in Spanish and good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven leadership skills, collaborative approach, and strong communication skills.
