Job Summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for setting work standards and strategic direction for the team, ensuring all team commitments are met, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management
    • Oversee the overall functional SW team management, including resource planning and allocation of resources to programs.
    • Ensure quality of all work done by the team.
  • Strategic Direction
    • Set work standards and strategic direction for the SW team, including templates, tools, and processes.
  • Talent Management
    • Maintain a staffing plan that reflects current and future program resource requirements in cooperation with the PMO leader and director R&D.
    • Talent management, training, and development of employees.
  • Team Planning
    • Overall team planning and work organization.
    • Identify missing resources and assign team members who are capable and motivated for the role of program functional leader.
  • Quality and Metrics
    • Owner of the MMSI development process in their area.
    • Management of technical knowledge, assets, and lessons learned in their functional area.
    • Owner of BOE database of their functional area.
    • Manage priorities and protect team.
    • Quality: Definition of metrics, tracking, reporting.
