About the Role:

The Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) offers a comprehensive array of analytical reagents and research chemicals to key markets globally. Recognized as a vital growth sector for the organization, LCD is poised for expansion in the US, Europe, and emerging markets, particularly in Asia. We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Sales Consultant to represent our brand portfolio in the region encompassing Spain and Portugal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the capabilities offered under the brands Fisher Chemical, Thermo Scientific (including former Acros Organics, Maybridge, and Alfa Aesar), and Fisher BioReagents, covering both bulk and custom products.
  • Serve as a representative of Thermo Fisher Scientific, embodying the company’s core values.
  • Establish and nurture long-term, productive relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Utilize the SFDC CRM system and Power BI for effective sales reporting.
  • Create and execute a strategic territory sales plan, including a Target Account Plan.
  • Meet and exceed the sales objectives for the designated territory.
  • Conduct monthly sales analyses to identify business deviations and implement corrective measures.
  • Foster relationships with all channel partners, particularly Fisher Scientific, providing specialist support for key accounts.
  • Regularly submit reports, including customer visit summaries, pipeline monitoring, and target account progress.
  • Plan customer visits effectively to maximize personal engagement.
  • Deliver sales presentations and participate in exhibitions and conferences.
  • Follow up on quotations diligently to enhance conversion rates.
  • Uphold high ethical standards to maintain a professional business conduct.

Candidate Profile:

We are in search of a motivated and driven professional who thrives in independent work environments, possesses problem-solving skills, and can cultivate new business opportunities across the territory. Candidates should ideally have experience in chemical sales and hold a degree in Chemistry or a related field.

  • Field experience in a commercial setting within the chemicals industry.
  • A university degree, preferably in chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence in diverse customer interactions.

  • Strong organizational skills with a clear focus on prioritizing tasks.
  • Willingness to accept accountability and responsibility.
