Division Overview:

The Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) offers a comprehensive array of analytical reagents and research chemicals to Thermo Fisher's primary markets globally. Recognized as a strategic growth sector, LCD is poised for expansion in the US, Europe, and emerging markets, particularly in Asia. With five operational facilities across the US and Europe, LCD distributes a substantial portion of its products through channel partners in key markets worldwide.

Position Summary:

As a Chemical Sales Expert, you will be tasked with representing the Laboratory Chemicals Division's brand portfolio to clients while supporting our channel partners. Reporting to the Region Sales Manager, this role encompasses both general sales and project-specific initiatives.

This position involves a combination of fieldwork and remote operations, necessitating approximately 50% travel. It is anticipated that 85% of your time will be spent engaging directly with clients, both virtually and in-person, while collaborating closely with channel partners. Given the extensive territory and the global nature of our business, overnight travel will be a requirement. Sales support will be provided by the Manager, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Customer Service teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities offered under the brands Fisher Chemical, Thermo Scientific (including Acros Organics, Maybridge, and Alfa Aesar), and Fisher BioReagents, encompassing bulk and custom products.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Thermo Fisher Scientific, fully embodying the company's values.
  • Establish and nurture long-term, productive relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Utilize the SFDC CRM system and Power BI for effective sales reporting.
  • Create and execute a strategic territory sales plan, including a Target Account Plan.
  • Meet and exceed the sales objectives for the designated territory.
  • Conduct monthly sales analyses to identify business deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster relationships with all channel partners, particularly field-based sales teams, acting as a specialist support for key accounts.
  • Provide regular reports as requested, including customer visit summaries, pipeline monitoring, and target account progress.
  • Plan customer visits effectively to maximize personal interactions.
  • Deliver sales presentations and participate in exhibitions and conferences.
  • Submit inquiries and diligently follow up on quotations to maximize conversion rates.
  • Maintain high ethical standards to uphold a professional business code of conduct.

Candidate Profile:
