Financial Manager Role at Thunes

About the Role

Thunes, a global Fintech scale-up, is seeking a seasoned Financial Manager to join its EU finance team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for overseeing financial tasks, projects, and reporting across EU entities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  2. Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  3. Manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to inform business decisions.
  4. Collaborate with the EU finance team to prepare consolidated financial statements and analytical reviews.
  5. Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting requirements and accounting standards.
  6. Supervise the maintenance of the company chart of accounts and support the subsidiary finance teams.
  7. Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  8. Support annual budget planning and opex controlling, identifying areas for improvement.
  9. Stay up-to-date with new accounting standards and regulations to ensure Thunes' compliance.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  2. Fully qualified accountant (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA).
  3. At least 8-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a Big 4 audit or commercial environment.
  4. Experience in managing a small team and working in a financially regulated organization.
  5. Proficiency in English and French; Spanish is a plus.
  6. Advanced proficiency in MS applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
  9. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  10. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
