Postdoctoral Researcher in RoHS Compliant Colloidal Quantum Dot Photodetectors

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Quantum Flagship. The successful candidate will be working on the development of RoHS compliant colloidal quantum dot photodetectors and image sensors.
The project focuses on the optimization of material properties and device stack on a die level, followed by integration of the optimum QD stack on a full image sensor in collaboration with industrial partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the physics of optoelectronic devices and proficiency in TCAD modeling of photodetectors.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly diverse group of people from across the world and across several disciplines, with the aim to develop truly interdisciplinary high-impact research. The project is funded by the European Union.
The candidate should have demonstrated experience and hands-on expertise on the fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices for photodetection based on solution-processed materials. Expertise in charge transport studies, low noise techniques, and optoelectronic characterization of devices is highly desirable.
We are looking for candidates with the following expertise:
- Strong background in the physics of optoelectronic devices and proficiency in TCAD modeling of photodetectors.
- Experience in charge transport studies, low noise techniques, and optoelectronic characterization of devices.
- Direct demonstrated expertise of the aforementioned features in the field of colloidal quantum dot optoelectronics will be positively evaluated.
- Experience in device fabrication and stack optimization using techniques related to solution-processed materials (spin coating, etc.), metallization, PVD (sputtering, thermal evaporation), and ALD.
- Experience in microfabrication (photolithography, lift-off, etching) for patterning will be considered a plus.

Salaries for ICFO Postdoctoral positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group. Standard salaries range from a lower level aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowships.
The contract is offered for a period of 3 years. Additionally, a family allowance is also available on request and after corresponding approval for people with family charges in the terms described in the corresponding policy.
