- POSITION TITLE: Regional Sales & Marketing Director, WEMEA

Location : Spain, Madrid (Regional HQ)

Position Summary:
Under broad administrative direction of the Regional Vice President, WEMEA, the Regional S&M Director provides strategic leadership to regional sales, business development and marketing team to support the overall sales strategy and profitability objectives. Ultimately responsible for ensuring our regional sales and business development team continues to provide professional and efficient service to our customers to uphold the reputation that sets us apart from our competitors. This position should be based ideally in Madrid’s Regional HQ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for understanding all World Courier’s product & services offerings and becoming a champion for practical integration of “real world” solutions.
- Manages teams of sales & business development specialists who can sell and implement customer-tailored solutions in the WEMEA region (Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Kenya; Netherlands; Portugal, South Africa, Switzerland; United Kingdom).
- Accountable to the Regional Vice President, WEMEA and VP, Global Sales, while working closely with Strategy and Marketing leadership, to implement and drive the sales of new markets and solution offerings with appropriate margin.
- Gathers information; analyses and develops strategies to address dynamics that may affect area of responsibility using solution selling techniques.
- Works closely with all regional sales managers, business development managers, strategic account, and national representatives to implement key initiatives and create new partnerships.
- Interacts effectively with all levels of senior level management up to C-suite level at customer sites; understands inter-workings of customers various decision-makers to readily differentiate from gatekeepers.
- Has input into sales training programs and educational plans for the sales team within WEMEA.
- Supports all sales processes including market coverage, sales compensation, and expense control.
- Develops sales strategies and implement those strategies within the field sales organization by providing training and educational tools.
- Leads sales team goal setting and forecasting process.
- Ensures self and direct reports adhere to company expense policy and general fiduciary management.
- Track KPIs to gauge the effectiveness of new business development as well as account management.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
- Directly manages several large accounts, as agreed with management.
What your background should look like
- Education and Experience:

- Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree Program; MBA with a concentration in Marketing preferred. Requires substantial related and progressively responsible experience.
- Fluent English plus at least one additional language spoken widely in the WEMEA region.
- Substantial P&L ownership experience
- Deep knowledge of speciality logistics (WC or similar).
- Strong understanding of the pharma industry and key relationships.
- General business acumen and know-how and ability to understand costs and margins.
- Demonstrates executive presence.
- Strong natural leadership & excellent presentation skills.
- Strong coaching and sales experience; strong sales management abilities.
- Analytical skills
- Strategy, ability to review and define a Sales and marketing Strategy.
- Understands sales trends and operating assumptions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other functions.
- Demonstrates use of project management techniques.
- Excellent negotiation & organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent integration, implementation, and management skills.
- Working knowledge of sales management, sales planning and goal setting, successful strategic and consultative selling techniques, and related information.
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to direct activities of others, including coaching, training, guiding, developing, and managing.
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
- Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to develop and maintain cooperative working and business relationships with others.
