These talented creative teams are well-known for developing hugely popular cross-platform titles including State of Survival, King of Avalon, Guns of Glory, Stormshot, and Sea of Conquest.The FunPlus brand is also behind FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), one of the world's most successful esports organizations.Your roleFor our office in Barcelona we are looking for a pragmatic Mandarin-speaking Commercial Legal Counsel who accomplished his-her legal (commercial corporate) training at a renowned European, UK or US university.
In this role you will be responsible for providing global world-class legal support and management advice to our dynamic and fast-paced video game and software development company.
The ideal candidate will require strong initiative and sound judgement, with the ability to work often independently in a creative and disruptive industry.
If you are a qualified lawyer who has about 5-8 years transactional, contractual, compliance and corporate legal experience in a globally operating gaming, media, e-commerce or high-tech multicultural global organisation, then this role could be yours.Be part of FunPlus' global, multi-specialised team of legal counsel and professionals as you will partner across our organisation to provide legal solutions and consult and inform what we build and develop for our people, players and customers around the world.
You will be part of our Global Legal Department with its main offices in Switzerland and Beijing.
This role is based in Barcelona, Spain and reports to our Vice President & General Counsel, Western Markets at our global HQ in Switzerland.Your ResponsibilitiesIn close collaboration with your global legal team members you will partner with the FunPlus business teams in Barcelona and our other Western markets to manage, negotiate and execute a broad range of commercial and corporate agreements, compliance/legal/risk management related local and global matters and projects, primarily relating to our Western entities and markets and jurisdictions.Pro-actively manage the day-to-day legal operational, contractual, corporate, organisational and compliance needs of our games and the Barcelona entity, and, where applicable, provide support in respect of other Western entities.Act as subject matter expert and provide operational and strategic counsel in areas of risk and mitigation strategies to ensure that agreements and execution in all business areas are consistent with regulations, internal corporate policies and processes.Your profileExcellent command of English and Mandarin (fluency).About 5-8 years' experience in a comparable commercial legal function, preferably in gaming, media or the tech industry.Working experience in a Chinese company.A Master's Law degree from a reputable university in Europe, UK or the US.Excellent service-oriented and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with people from a broad range of cultures, individuals and groups in a cross-functional context are a must.Ability to simplify complexity to actionable decisions and manage complex projects and negotiations, keeping all stakeholders informed and committed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in virtual and hybrid teams with colleagues and advisors in different time zones.Demonstrated ability to quickly research and evaluate novel legal issues, with a focus on practical solutions and an understanding of legal risks.Interest and familiarity with legal issues facing technology and gaming companies.You are a well-organised, tech-savvy, self-driven, curious, energetic, resilient and uncomplicated team-oriented creative thinker and professional with a sense of humour and a high level of integrity, accountability and professionalism who feels comfortable in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.Perks of your new adventureFlexible working hours - We know you have other quests and fun activities in your life, as long as you get your job done, flex away.Multicultural teams - With so many offices around the world, you will have opportunities to engage and learn from your global colleagues.Diverse team events - Barcelona has the reputation of fun, and this office is determined to keep up that reputation.International and expert leadership - You cannot create legends without legendary leadership.Creative environment - This is entertainment after allExcellent benefits - Lunch tickets, parties and music oh myAnd we are dog-friendlyStart your new adventure nowFunPlus is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating a diverse environment.
