About Ukio |We are one of the most promising startups of 2024 with headquarters in Spain. We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market, providing fully furnished and artfully designed apartments for stays starting at one month. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, security deposits, broker fees, moving/buying furniture, etc., giving choice and flexibility to allow people to plant their roots anywhere.
Backed by Europe's best Venture Capital firms, this year will be vital in our growth as we look to further build out our team, further establish ourselves in our current markets, and expand our reach into multiple new markets. We are currently ranked in the top 10 startups in Spain by Linkedin, and we have successfully raised a Series A investment round of €27 million that will help propel our growth throughout Western Europe and bring us closer to reaching our goals.

Role |We are seeking a People Operations Specialist to join the People Operations team. Together with the rest of the team, you will be our first point of contact for all employees and leaders queries across the business. You will become the backbone of the People Operations Team providing front line support to our employees guiding them through each stage of their lifecycle, all while driving our company culture. You will be vibrant, personable and confident - all while maintaining a professional and confidential approach to your work. In this role you will have the ability to make improvements, efficiencies and tackle projects to make our People Team service the best it can be.
We're looking for someone with exposure to all activities in the employee lifecycle, from preboarding and onboarding management, to answering general and specific questions regarding their benefits, payslips, handling concerns and supporting managers in day-to-day management activities. Reporting directly to the Senior People Operations, you will play a key role in reviewing all employees paperwork, supporting payroll processes and creating and maintaining our internal policies aligned with the local legislations and Ukio standards. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys exposure to new and exciting challenges.
Responsibilities |Ensure all employees across Ukio have a seamless People Operations experience throughout the employee lifecycle from signing their contract through to offboarding.First point of contact for employees and leaders across Ukio People-related topics.Develop trusted partnerships with local leaders to enable you to support them on people processes and issues they are facing.Coach and advise our managers on people-related topics (performance management, rewards, etc.)Work as a team with the rest of the People Team to ensure alignment and consistency across markets.Ensure compliance with local employment law and regulations.Be a culture champion: Role model the Ukio values and drive forward culture & values initiatives across the business.Manage & promote local market benefits offering.Keeping HR systems updated: Input starter & leaver data into People systems and ensure the quality & accuracy of people data in your market.Partnering with the People Team leadership and working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver on key strategic projects including brainstorming, development, training and launch phases.Support the Talent Acquisition team on any local hiring needs (e.g. language assessments, paperwork review, offer letters and local laboral requirements).About you |Experience in People Operations (administration) of a minimum of 3 years in fast-growing companies.Knowledge of employment law in Europe (employment requirements, types of contracts, mandatory insurances, benefits, payroll, offboarding, etc.).Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive conversations.Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented.Excellent organisation, prioritisation & attention to detail.Vault-like: treating highly confidential information and situations with the utmost integrity.Data-driven, tech-savvy, and a self-starter.Fluent in Spanish and English, with additional languages as a plus.Flexible, resilient and content with ambiguity and changes.Confident with working in cross-functional teams.Adaptable and comfortable performing in a start-up environment.Ukio's life benefits |Private Health Insurance with SANITASFlexible retribution with PayflowUKIO Anniversary giftTeam buildings and office eventsTransportation card (transportation coverage for roles that have traveling needed for their work tasks according to the internal policy)Breakfast at the office, fruits, nutrition bars, free coffee/tea and popcornAn amazing internal culture and no dress codeInternational working environment with many different nationalitiesUkio's culture promotes and values each individual's contribution.
