Senior Software Engineer Role (Kotlin) You’ll join a close-knit engineering function of around 9 engineers , giving you plenty of ownership, visibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on technical decisions and how the platform evolves. One of the key projects will involve modernising the existing technology platform and migrating from PHP to Kotlin . You’ll work closely with engineering and product while remaining firmly hands-on with development and delivery . What We're Looking For Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin Strong backend software engineering experience Currently hands-on with coding and comfortable working in a highly technical role Experience with cloud technologies , ideally AWS Experience building and maintaining modern, scalable backend applications Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working within a smaller engineering team with significant ownership Particularly Valuable Experience Experience within FinTech, banking, payments, lending, insurance or wider financial services would be a strong advantage. We’re also particularly interested in engineers who have worked on: Legacy modernisation or technology migration projects Migration into Java/Kotlin environments AWS and cloud-native architectures Smaller product engineering teams with end-to-end ownership Practical use of AI within software development Location & Employment This is a permanent position and candidates must be based in, or able to be permanently employed in: UK | Spain | Portugal | Italy | Poland Please note that B2B and contract arrangements are not available for this position you will be employed through EOR (Employer of Record) If you’re a Senior Software Engineer who wants to remain hands-on while playing a key role in a major technology modernisation, we’d love to hear from you.
