Today, our Global Accounts represent approximately 80% of our European bookings, and we are looking for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to help us deepen our footprint in the EMEA region while expanding outbound opportunities worldwide.
About the Role
We seek a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team, reporting directly to the VP of Global Accounts EMEA. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping Convergint's growth by targeting high-potential global accounts, driving new business acquisitions, and forging strategic partnerships in the EMEA region. This is a high-impact position for a hunter who thrives on building relationships, negotiating Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and delivering results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
As a Business Development Manager for Global Accounts, you will:
- Develop and Execute Strategic Plans: Create a tailored business plan and sales strategy to achieve ambitious sales targets, focusing on acquiring new European-based global accounts and supporting inbound opportunities from other regions.
- Drive New Business: Target and engage with large multinational corporations in key industries like Technology, Finance, Manufacturing, and Energy, expecting to initiate at least five MSA negotiations annually.
- Collaborate Globally: Work closely with regional account managers, the SES "deal desk" team and product partners to ensure seamless delivery of Convergint's bespoke solutions, from proposal to implementation.
- Forecast and Report: Provide accurate monthly and annual sales forecasts to the Commercial Director, ensuring alignment with our goal of achieving $XXX million in Global Accounts bookings by 2030 (50% of EMEA business).
- Represent Convergint: Deliver compelling presentations, manage pre-qualification and tender submissions, and build lasting relationships with prospective clients across the EMEA region.
- Travel with Purpose: Embrace the opportunity to travel across EMEA and globally, connecting with clients and supporting our "Global Reach, Local Service" ethos.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a results-driven professional who brings:
- Proven Experience: At least two years of experience selling into end-user accounts, ideally within the security or technology integration industry.
- Negotiation & Bid Expertise: Strong negotiating skills, experience in bid writing, and a knack for crafting winning proposals and estimates.
- Communication & Influence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and deliver impactful presentations.
- Energy & Drive: A highly energetic, self-motivated team player who thrives under pressure and is passionate about exceeding targets.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong financial and analytical skills to resolve challenges, assess opportunities, and maximise profitability.
- Tech Savviness: Proficiency in relevant systems and solutions, with knowledge of the security industry being a distinct advantage.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly within EMEA and globally, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Bonus Points:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Industry-specific certifications.
