TTHE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for delivering the agreed growth targets for the International Organisations direct channel: Intergovernmental, Non-governmental and Government organisations. You will also have responsibility for developing the strategic sales strategy. You will be directly responsible for managing the team of Strategic Sales Managers to develop direct opportunities in Europe and globally for the NGO and IGO business lines. You will work in close partnerships with the functional leaders to ensure that we are meeting our growth goals. You will be a key member of the Sales Leadership team and will play a role as COE for International Organisations.
**Responsibilities**
Lead strategic sales pipeline development for IO opportunities
Drive commercial deals within the regions with brokers and consultants to drive profitable growth.
Work with other EGS Sales Directors to design and implement a systematic approach to business development within each region and across all lines of business.
Provide leadership to the sales teams, creating a focused and successful team through talent recruitment, development and coaching.
Provide thought leadership on product and distribution channel development.
Research and develop new business opportunities within core and emerging markets.
Prepare focused, presentations for new business emphasizing the USP of the Cigna product versus the competition.
Work with Marketing to develop appropriate literature, event and exhibition material and external communications strategy.
Develop proactive strategy, with regular reviews, maximizing specific opportunities as they arise.
Assess prospective customers’ existing insurance arrangements to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Act as an advisor and coach to distributors and sales force on all aspects of medical insurance requirements for each region.
Keep abreast of all developments in the market both customer and competitor-related, contributing to new product development/business initiatives accordingly.
Act as a key spokesperson for International Organisations in all markets with a focus on understanding international business - regulatory and compliance changes that drive healthcare models.
Liaise with internal departments, e.g. telesales, operations, underwriting and marketing, ensuring these are in line with established procedures to deliver optimum service to customers.
Collaborate with product and strategy to develop a deep understanding of Cigna’s key competitors, the company’s strengths and weaknesses and drive the appropriate internal actions to close gaps.
Your profile
**Qualifications**
Graduate degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Minimum 10 years direct sales/business development experience with at least 4/5 years in a leadership position, gained preferably within the global healthcare/medical arena with a focus not only on growth but also on profitability.
Deep understanding of the dynamics and players within the broker market is a must with a proven track record of developing broker relationships to drive new business.
International business experience is key, preferably gained in multiple geographies.
Leadership and management of a global team is desirable.
Experience working in a cross-cultural matrix environment.
