APPLICATION ENGINEER

Eurovision Services is looking for an Application Engineer to join our technology hub in Madrid, Spain.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
In this role as an Application Engineer, you will:

  • Be responsible for logging and tracking incidents and service requests in our ticketing system and assign them to the relevant support teams.
  • Manage the communication between end users and IT support teams.
  • Configure and maintain the corporate tools used by Eurovision Services
  • Promote process automation.
  • Participate in the setup of monitoring solutions.
  • Generate documentation in English.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Between 3 5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Scripting language and programming experience (Scripting in Python or Bash, PowerShell etc.).
  • Experience with Atlassian suite tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo etc.) or other ticketing system as service now.
  • Experience with CD/CI tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Power Apps and Power Automate is a plus.
  • Experience with public Cloud Platforms as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with databases and distributed systems such as MySQL and Postgres.
  • Familiar with containerization and Docker platforms, and orchestration tools including Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Kibana, Elasticsearch, etc is a plus.
  • System administration skills.
  • Strong problemsolving, ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency.
  • Proactivity, selfdriven, and ability to identify improvements to address recurring issues, close monitoring gaps, and automate/reduce manual work.
  • Selfmanagement and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with remote teams.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a similar degree (Master's or Bachelor's).
  • Certification in AWS or Microsoft Azure is a plus.

ADDED VALUE
Additional experience in the following areas would be a bonus:

  • Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland),
  • Some experience in OTT/Media/Broadcast software development projects.
  • Knowledge of digital video concepts (container formats, codecs, compression schemes tools, best practices, etc.)
  • ITIL certification.
