apeirum is recruiting on behalf of maxon for a Senior Network Engineer in Barcelona. This is a permanent position employed directly by maxon; apeirum runs the selection process. maxon is a global provider of world-class precision drive systems. Its drives are used wherever extreme precision and the highest quality standards matter – on Earth, and on Mars. As Senior Network Engineer you will own maxon's Aruba network in Barcelona – Wi-Fi, LAN and ClearPass – and run it from day one. You'll join a small ICT security team and work closely with the security and firewall colleagues. Hybrid in Barcelona (3 days office, 2 remote), with occasional travel to Switzerland (5–10%). Tasks
• Configure and maintain the latest Aruba Wi-Fi environment through Aruba Central.
• Configure and maintain Aruba ClearPass (NAC, authentication, access policies).
• Run the Wi-Fi and LAN lifecycle project, including the rollout of new access points and switches.
• Monitor and meet ISO 27001 requirements across LAN/WLAN.
• Give the security team network insights and support incident analysis.
• Work with the firewall team and external suppliers.
• Run the Wi-Fi service to company SLAs and bring in current security features. Must have
• Several years of hands-on experience running an Aruba Wi-Fi / LAN environment in production – ready to take ownership from day one.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba Central.
• Deploying and managing Wi-Fi 7 access points.
• Aruba ClearPass administration.
• Managing Aruba AOS-CX switches.
• Clear communication with IT and business colleagues, and the ability to prioritise, especially where security is involved.
• Experience working in a small team together with external suppliers.
• Degree in network engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English – it is the working language with the team in Switzerland.
• Based in Spain (Barcelona area). Nice to have
• HPE Aruba Networking certification (ACSP / ACX).
• Firewall management experience.
