Horizon Europe Project Manager

Science For Change (SFC) is a knowledge-based and consultancy enterprise that addresses social, environmental and health challenges through co-creation, collaborative research and citizen science towards social innovation. We manage a diverse portfolio of projects funded by European programs such as Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, as well as other National, Regional and Local funding schemes, such as international, national, regional and local Public and Private Calls and Tenders. We also have a portfolio of private innovation consultancy projects. Our fields of expertise are many, from sustainability, circular economy, and territorial monitoring, to health, and social sciences and humanities, including the arts. We involve the public in the research process in all our projects to co-produce new knowledge, co-create innovations accepted by all, and inform public policies to improve society. We also use innovative science communication to democratise science, using the arts or digital means to reach wider audiences.The RoleWe are seeking a proactive and rigorous PMO (post-award) to oversee and coordinate our European projects portfolio. You will ensure alignment between Project Managers' performance and our strategic objectives, managing planning, execution and monitoring of our projects in collaboration with project managers and partners.Key Responsibilities : Project ManagementCoordinate planning, time management and progress of European projects (post-award)Implement standards, best practices and project governance structuresControl workforce time efficiency in coordination with Operations Director and Finance ManagerDesign and conduct Monitoring & Evaluation to guarantee efficiency and excellenceMonitor budgets and propose corrective measures when necessaryManage project deliverables and support technical implementationPrepare technical reports aligned with work plan requirementsManage project budgets and prepare financial justificationsManage Grant Agreements, Consortium Agreements and research project contractsEnsure compliance with European funding regulations and internal policiesOptimize project management tools for continuous improvementPartner LiaisonAct as primary liaison between internal teams, external partners and funding bodiesFollow up on work and compliance with established deadlinesMaintain contact with European consortium partners and clientsPresent projects at events and attend consortium meetingsPrepare deliverables, dissemination articles and scientific papersRequired Qualifications : EducationMaster's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, European Studies, Engineering, or related fieldsProject management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) highly valuedProfessional ExperienceMinimum 3-5 years in project management, preferably in EU-funded projectsProven track record in post-award management of European research and innovation projectsExperience coordinating multi-partner consortia and international collaborationsDemonstrated experience in budget management and financial reporting for EU projectsFamiliarity with EU grant agreements, consortium agreements and compliance requirementsTechnical KnowledgeIn-depth knowledge of EU funding frameworks and financial regulations (Horizon Europe)Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Trello)Strong understanding of technical and financial reporting requirements for the European CommissionExperience with KPI monitoring and performance tracking systemsSkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical thinking for budget monitoring and deviation analysisStrategic vision for identifying opportunities and project exploitationHigh degree of autonomy and self-motivationFlexibility and adaptabilityResilience under pressureCollaborative spirit and integrityWhat We OfferMeaningful work on impactful research projectsDynamic, collaborative and international work environmentProfessional growth opportunitiesFlexible work arrangements (2 remote working days per week)Office with terrace in central BarcelonaCompetitive salary based on experience and skills6-month probation periodHow to ApplySend your CV and motivation letter in English to: rrhh@scienceforchange.euSubject: PMO Manager at Science For ChangeApplication deadline: September 23rd, 2025The selection process will start as suitable candidates apply.
