Overview

As a Senior Consultant, you will lead the design, validation, and deployment of real-time optimization (RTO) and closed-loop control for ethylene cracker plants using AVEVA APO. You will develop rigorous cracker process models and integrate them with APC/DCS systems to deliver measurable economic benefits. You'll work with Operations, Process Engineering, and Planning teams to identify optimization opportunities and translate them into sustainable, scalable strategies. This role offers hands-on technical leadership and the chance to shape digital optimization across complex petrochemical facilities. Responsabilidades

Implement, commission, and maintain APO Real-Time Optimization Closed Loop applications for ethylene/steam cracker plants
Develop and maintain detailed process models of ethylene cracker complexes
Represent feedstock effects, furnace severity, coil outlet temperature, and energy economics in models
Configure online model execution, data validation, estimation, and plant-model matching
Develop economic optimization cases incorporating feed costs, utilities, and constraints
Implement and commission Closed Loop RTO integrating APO with plant APC/DCS systems
Collaborate with Operations, Process Engineering, APC, Planning to identify opportunities
Monitor RTO performance and benefits, including model accuracy and economic gains
Diagnose and resolve RTO issues related to data, instrumentation, and operating changes
Support site commissioning, training, and handover of RTO applications
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other RTO engineers, especially in cracker modelling and optimization

Requisitos principales Strong ethylene/steam cracker process engineering, simulation, or optimization experience
Hands-on experience with AVEVA APO/ROMeo or equivalent RTO technology
Experience with steady-state process simulation, data reconciliation, and nonlinear optimization
Understanding of APC/RTO integration and closed-loop optimization architectures
Experience with plant historians and data infrastructure such as AVEVA PI System (desirable)
Ability to collaborate with refinery/petrochemical Operations and Engineering teams during implementation
Chemical Engineering or equivalent process engineering degree (preferred)
Proven ability to work on complex, cross-functional optimization projects
