Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join an extraordinary team with dynamic strengths. You'll be part of the Catalog Games studio, which leads a portfolio of nine games, with a tenth joining soon. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of art and technology, helping shape how our games evolve as we expand our Unity capabilities across the portfolio.

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will play a central role in enabling high-quality visual experiences while driving the technical foundations needed to support Unity development.

You'll collaborate closely with the team's Senior Technical Artist, Game Artists, UI Designers, Programmers, QA, and game stakeholders to support both the ongoing needs of multiple Catalog Games titles built on in-house technology and the transition of selected games and content workflows into Unity. A key focus of this role will be bringing strong Unity knowledge into the organisation and helping define how art and content move efficiently into a modern Unity-based production environment. You will support the porting of game content and workflows to Unity, help establish scalable asset pipelines and tooling, and ensure artists are empowered to work effectively within the engine.

While the role has a strong emphasis on Unity migration and pipeline development, it should still support the broader needs of other Catalog Games across the portfolio. This role demands a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a cross-disciplinary environment. You will be instrumental in improving workflows, troubleshooting production challenges, and building sustainable technical art solutions that balance quality, performance, and team efficiency.

In addition to supporting your project team, you'll be an active contributor to King's global Technical Art community — sharing knowledge, influencing best practices, and helping raise the bar across all games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical art partner in the adoption of Unity across the Catalog Games portfolio, with a clear focus on supporting the porting of existing game content into Unity by defining, building, evolving, and maintaining scalable art production workflows, asset pipelines, and tooling.
  • Build close relationships across the organisation and provide technical art support for Catalog Games, including titles such as Pet Rescue Saga, Bubble Witch 3 Saga, and Candy Crush Solitaire Saga.
  • Partner closely with the team's Senior Technical Artist, engineers, and technical leadership to identify and solve challenges related to long-term maintainability of the engine integrations used by the organisation.
  • Work hands‐on in Unity to validate content workflows, troubleshoot issues, and improve how assets, UI, animation, and other visual content are imported, configured, and maintained.
  • Support, assist, and mentor Game/UI Artists with technical problems in their day‐to‐day work, especially as teams adopt new tools, workflows, and engine practices.
  • Drive improvements in visual fidelity, performance, and content iteration speed by identifying bottlenecks and implementing practical technical art solutions.
  • Collaborate across art, engineering, design, product, and QA to ensure pipelines and content workflows support high-quality player experiences.
  • Contribute to technical art best practices across the wider organisation, sharing knowledge and helping shape standards for Unity‐focused content production.

Skills To Create Thrills

  • Strong knowledge of Unity, with hands‐on experience supporting art and content workflows in the engine.
  • Deep understanding of content pipelines for games and art creation workflows, especially asset integration, validation, optimisation, and automation.
  • Strong proficiency in technical art tooling and pipeline development.
  • Experience building or evolving asset pipelines and tooling to support efficient content production at scale.
  • Good understanding of the challenges involved in porting content and workflows from custom engines or legacy pipelines into Unity.
  • Both artistic and technical creativity with a passion for solving problems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of graphics production fundamentals, such as modelling, unwrapping/texturing/shading/surfacing, rigging, animation, rendering, and pipeline tool development.
  • Good understanding of mobile technical constraints and optimisation.&l
