The researcher will join the project "EEG correlates of unusual bodily sensations and out-of-body experiences across the wake-sleep cycle " at the Center for Brain and Cognition, , Pompeu Fabra University:
The project is led by Gustavo Deco, director of the Computational Neuroscience lab, The aim of the project is to Quantify the degree of irreversibility in high-density EEG brain signals associated with unusual bodily sensations, including out-of-body experiences, by comparing them to periods of eyes-closed wakefulness and the baseline brain states in which these sensations occur (e.g., meditation or sleep). The project is funded by the BIAL FOUNDATION /24.

Data Analysis.
Figure Preparation.
Paper writing.
Group and complement: Group 1 + Level o
Dedication and working hours: Full time (35h/week).
Planned remuneration approx: 39.749,56 € gross per year
Financing fund: Project PRINT FUNDACIÓ BIAL /24 DECO, "EEG correlates of unusual bodily sensations and out-of-body experiences across the wake-sleep cycle", financed by BIAL FOUNDATION, projecte that ends on 29/05/2026.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree.
The expected start date is May 5th 2025, the job is in Barcelona.
Selection criteria: The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:
1- Academic Training (0-20 points).
Undergraduate degree in Biological sciences or similar.
Master in Neuroscience or similar.
2- Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-60 points):
Experience in a Cognitive Neuroscience Lab.
Experience in whole-brain modeling.
3- Other merits (0-20 points):
Good knowledge of MATLAB.
High level of English.
The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job.
