Descripció del projecte/ Project description:

Applications are invited for a Research Support Tech in the Multisensory Research Group, (MRG), , led by Salvador Soto Faraco), at the Center for Brain and Cogntion, , Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The candidate will form part of the project Bridging Perception and Conflict Grant PID NB funded by MICIU/AEI/ / and by "ERDF A way of making Europe".

The position is for 6 months.

PERFLICT is a research project that aims to address the interplay between the processes of perception and of cognitive conflict and control. These two cognitive functions have been widely studied, but they have generally been treated as separate and independent research areas. The goal of the project is to fill this gap by using perceptual inference theories such as Predictive Processing and Bayesian Causal Inference.

PERFLICTO és un projecte de recerca que aborda la interacció entre el procés de percepció i el de conflicte i control cognitius. Aquestes dues funcions cognitives s'han estudiat àmpliament, però generalment s'han tractat com a àrees de recerca separades i independents. L'objectiu del projecte és connectar aquests processos utilitzant teories d'inferència perceptiva com el Processament Predictiu i la Inferència Causal Bayesiana.

La posició és per 6 mesos.

Participant Recruitment

Preparing consent forms and other documentation needed to set up collaborations with other institutions

Preparation of materials/stimuli and programming of experiments

Data collection, preprocessing, analysis, and modelling.

Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project

Attend project meetings

Summarize project results

Data preparation and curation for repositories.

General tasks for the laboratory: social networks and web maintenance

The duration is 6 months.

- Preparació de formularis de consentiment i altra documentació necessària per establir col·laboracions amb altres institucions

- Preparació de materials/estímuls i programació d'experiments

- Recopilació de dades, preprocessament, anàlisi i modelització.

- Sol·licitud o adquisició d'equips o subministraments necessaris per al projecte

- Assistir a reunions de projecte

- Resumir els resultats del projecte

- Preparació i curació de dades per a repositoris.

- Tasques generals per al laboratori: xarxes socials i manteniment web

La durada és de 6 mesos.

Dedicació i jornada/ Dedication and working hours:Temps parcial (25h/setmana)/part time (25h/week).

Requisits/ Requirements:

●     Batxillerat-FP2/ High school-FP2.

La data prevista d'inici és el15 setembre, la feina és a Barcelona./ The expected start date is 15 September, the job is in Barcelona.

Criteris de selecció/ Selection criteria: La selecció dels candidats es farà mitjançant valoració del currículum i, si escau, amb la realització d'una prova i/o entrevista. La valoració serà la següent:/ The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:

La puntuació mínima per passar el procés de selecció és de 70 punts. La persona candidata que hagi obtingut la puntuació més alta en el procés de selecció serà l'adjudicatària del lloc de treball./ The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job. 

1.    Formació Acadèmica/ Academic Training (0-40 punts/ points)

- Degree in bioinformatics, physics, or similar demonstrable training

- Master in cognitive neuroscience or similar.

/

- Grau en bioinformàtica, física o formació demostrable similar

- Màster en neurociència cognitiva o similar.

2.    Altra formació i experiència professional, adequació al perfil proposat/ Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-40 punts/ points):

-Previous experience collecting data in a cognitive neuroscience laboratory is required (preferably using EEG).

-Previous experience with data analysis will be valued positively.

-Previous experience with Machine Learning

-Previous experience with VR setups will be valued positively.

-Es requereix experiència prèvia en la recollida de dades en un laboratori de neurociència cognitiva (preferiblement mitjançant EEG).

-Es valorarà positivament experiència prèvia en l'anàlisi de dades.

-Experiència prèvia amb Aprenentatge Automàtic.

-Es valorarà positivament l'experiència prèvia amb configuracions de realitat virtual.

Altres mèrits (0-20 punts)

-Languages: Spanish, English (Catalan will be valued)

-Programming: Proficient knowledge of Matlab and/or Python programming environments (preferably in the context of experiment building and data analysis, and ML).

-Idiomes: Castellà, Anglès (es valorarà el català)

-Programació: Coneixements sòlids dels entorns de programació Matlab i/o Python (preferiblement en el context de la construcció d'experiments i l'anàlisi de dades, i l'aprenentatge automàtic).
