Role Description

Full-time role for a Quantitative Researcher, based on-site in Barcelona or Madrid. A remote or hybrid arrangement is feasible for candidates located in Spain.

The role focuses on the development of systematic and quantitative trading models, functions, and algorithms across a wide range of markets, including traditional financial instruments and non-traditional markets. Responsibilities span the full research lifecycle, from model design and implementation through validation, simulation, and performance evaluation, using advanced quantitative methods and appropriate research tools. The position involves working with complex datasets, building robust and scalable model components, and collaborating closely with team members to address research and implementation challenges.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience researching, supporting, and contributing to live trading portfolios, with a clear understanding of portfolio behaviour, risk, and performance drivers
  • Relevant experience in designing and implementing systematic and quantitative processes, from idea generation and modeling to validation and deployment
  • Proficiency with programming and research tools used in quantitative analysis, including experience with Python, R, or MATLAB
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related fields
  • Familiarity with advanced trading platforms and quantitative research environments is a plus
  • Exposure to machine learning or AI techniques applied to quantitative research or trading is considered a plus
