We are looking for a high-performing Freight Forwarder (Air/Ocean) specialist to support our growing business for both import and export operations. This position will directly report to the Business Development Manager.

As a Freight Forwarder Specialist (Air/Ocean) you are responsible for the coordination of import/export shipments in accordance with the companies' guidelines and the wishes of the customer. Besides, you will be responsible for the quotations to customers, bookings with shipping lines, customs process and everything involved in the freight forwarding operations.

This role is all about providing outstanding customer service and operational support to our customers. Your focus will be to take control of Import/export shipments from the time a shipment has been booked at destination, arrived at POD and is requested for final delivery and everything in between. This will be liaising with our overseas branches, shipping lines, customers and our transport teams. During the process you will be making decisions to get cargo moved and delivered in full and on-time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle Air/Ocean Inbound/outbound shipments from booked until delivered.
  • Quote all requests received from our customers following the internal SDS process.
  • Monitor shipments and customs clearance status; resolve shipment exceptions and customs clearance complications if they arise.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service
  • Have an active role in resolving customer queries, accounts query and any customs issues
  • Liaise effectively with other departments
  • Support freight cost payment, management, and timely invoicing
  • Be proactive in the development of the Import/export systems and procedures
  • Track and monitor customer, and organization logistics KPIs and cost performance.
  • Make sure we are compliant to all relevant regulatory and compliance policies, both internal and external
  • Identify frequency and cause of service inconsistencies, failures and deviations, take corrective actions

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Studies in Internacional trade (Grado superior Comercio Internacional preference) and/or Master in International trade.
  • Knowledge of operational Incoterms.
  • Excellent skills on Microsoft Office tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • A commercial, customer focused mindset
  • A willingness to learn and grow
  • Self-motivation individual
  • A genuine interest in supply chain and logistics
  • The ability to think strategically and outside the box to problem solve
  • English as a must, 90% of your time will be in English.
