We're a team of dedicated and smart people united by a drive to achieve together.You will be a Strategic Finance Partner and drive growth for a $1.6B+ global CDMO business, collaborating closely with the Head CDMO to shape financial strategy and deliver results and oversee a diverse portfolio of 20+ major pharma partnerships across 20+ international sites, fuelling expansion and innovation. You will lead all aspects of finance, from business development and deal acquisition to key account management and high-stakes negotiations and inspire and develop a high-performing finance team of 11 direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Finance Leadership: Act as a trusted business partner to the Head of CDMO and the broader Leadership Team, actively contributing as a member of both the CDMO and Global Operations Finance Leadership teams.
- Commercial Enablement: Deliver deep financial expertise across all commercial focus areas, including: Shaping robust business cases for new deals and external offers; Driving the expansion and optimization of existing deals, with a focus on price/ volume and value creation
- Performance Management: Oversee project controlling to ensure ongoing deal performance aligns with agreed business cases and commitments, proactively developing and executing gap-closing plans.
- Negotiation Excellence: Represent finance in customer negotiations, taking ownership of critical topics such as investment funding, deal structuring, risk mitigation, and maximizing deal value.
- Financial Planning & Execution: Lead all financial planning processes for the unit—including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals—ensuring that commitments are underpinned by actionable strategies and effective execution.
- Value-Added Analysis: Champion insightful analyses in areas such as resource allocation, profitability, and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Governance & Compliance: Maintain ownership of finance controls and compliance attestations, upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability
- Champion Financial Integrity: Take full ownership of Finance Controls and Compliance, ensuring the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and trust across the organization
- Organizational Development: Steer the evolution of the CDMO Finance organization into a truly global FP&A unit, recognized as a valued partner to all sites worldwide.
What you'll bring to the role:
Essential Criteria:
- MBA or equivalent
- Extensive experience in Finance experience leadership with proven ability to lead direct & indirect teams.
- Strong Pharma commercial and/or manufacturing finance expertise partnering particularly with commercial and technical units covering different areas of finance (decision making support, contracting, financial planning, transfer pricing and accounting)
- Financial decision making and trade-off analysis / risks & ops mgmt. with analytical thinking and financial modelling
- Strong Business acumen / mindset and extensive negotiation skills.
- Fluent experience in English, both Written & Verbal.
