About the role

As Head of Finance, you will lead Equito's entire financial function and drive the accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence needed to support our rapid growth.

This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to bring structure, discipline, and scalability to complex financial operations.

You will oversee accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, budgeting, financial strategy, and automation—ensuring reliable financial information and world-class financial governance.

Your responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Accounting Team (Accounting Lead + 4 accountants).
  • Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closings.
  • Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls to eliminate delays and bottlenecks.
  • Lead Equito's overall financial strategy, supporting growth and long-term business goals.
  • Supervise all financial reporting, including financial statements, management reports, and forecasts.
  • Manage all tax obligations (VAT, corporate tax, withholdings) and coordinate with tax advisors.
  • Lead treasury management, cash flow planning, and relationships with financial institutions.
  • Own budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment across departments.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring full documentation and compliance.
  • Drive systems improvements and automation across ERP tools and financial workflows.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Finance/Accounting roles.
  • At least 2 years in a senior leadership role (CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Director).
  • Strong experience managing complex accounting operations.
  • Previous experience in high-growth startups.Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Executive MBA. Additional certifications (CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of Spanish GAAP and Spanish tax regulations.
  • Proven track record leading audits and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERPs (Holded, NetSuite or similar), financial modelling, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience implementing automation and strengthening internal controls.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ownership mindset and proactive, improvement-oriented attitude.
