Senior Commercial & Software Counsel
for a 6-month renewable contract with a leading international technology corporation in
Madrid, Spain.
This is a critical role for an elite lawyer who can hit the ground running (we call it a "plug-and-play" mindset).
This is
not
a traditional in-house job, it's a
strategic freelance project
demanding exceptional autonomy and deep commercial judgment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead Negotiator:
Own the drafting and negotiation of complex, high-value commercial agreements across the EMEA region. - Tech Specialist:
Focus on core technology contracts:
SaaS, Software Licensing, Cloud Services, and IT/Professional Services. - Business Partner:
Provide immediate, pragmatic legal advice to sales and business teams in a fast-paced, target-driven culture. - Cross-Border:
Navigate multi-jurisdictional issues, with a strong preference for proficiency in
English Law.
Critical Requirements:
- Experience:
Minimum
8+ years' PQE
in commercial contracts, with substantial experience in the IT/Software sector. - Jurisdiction:
Qualified lawyer (Spain, EU, or Common Law jurisdiction). - Registration:
Must be legally eligible to work in Spain and willing to register as a self-employed professional (
Autónomo
) or operate via an established professional entity.
We are seeking professionals who are already set up or are prepared to immediately commence the required residency and tax registration steps in Spain. - Location:
Mandatory 3 days per week on-site in Alcobendas, Madrid.
You must be based in or willing to relocate to Madrid immediately. - Language:
Fluent, professional
English
(required for negotiation). Spanish is highly beneficial.
