Novartis is seeking a motivated leader for the Data Strategy team to manage data solutions for international, regional, and country levels (IRC) and drive commercial activities. This role involves partnering with various teams to scale valuable data solutions across Novartis's commercial value chain. The leader will govern a centralized data hub for IRC, ensuring excellence in data management and collaboration. They will lead a team of experts, stay updated on industry practices, and collaborate with DDIT to deploy data strategies at scale.

**About the Role**:
**Key responsibilities**:

- Accountable for E2E Data lifecycle to enable CLS and IRC business needs.
- Accountable for Data vision, strategy, resource prioritization, budget, recruitment and work planning.
- Lead the Data Strategy team to support data-driven decision-making by innovatively leveraging data and technologies to provide objective, actionable and strategic insights on business performance and opportunities
- Accountable for strategizing, building, deploying and operating commercial Data products.
- Work closely with country data and analytics teams to carefully customize the Data solutions for local needs while preserving standardization for implementing Data at scale and speed
- Partner with Analytics, AI & Data Science, Marketing Platforms, other CLS teams, IRC, S&G, DDIT, BSI, and other commercial teams to identify key opportunities and issues, manage Data solutions, and translate the solutions and outcomes to business partners to drive tangible business impacts.
- Lead a team of Data experts with deep data expertise and understanding of Pharma use cases.
- Accountable for implementing, governing & scaling centralize multi-tenant data-hub to host CLS/International data needs.
- Accountable for Data Acquisition and ingestions from external partners.
- Accountable for EDM (Enterprise Data Management) for International.
- Accountable and responsible to plan and manage budget, resources, timelines of the Data solutions lifecycles and change management.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Graduate degree (ideally MSc/PhD) in a quantitative field (AI, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, IT, etc.)
- 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, IT, or a similar role
- 5+ years of Data Cloud Infrastructure, Master data management and/or Data management experience with Pharma data
- 5+ years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare and Consumer experience in analytics. Deep hands-on understanding of pharma data sets and use cases
- 5+ years of managing and leading data teams with a passion for coaching, developing, and mentoring others
- Strong understanding of end-to-end pharma value chain Commercialization process, and experience with field analytics, marketing, and sales analytics
- Experience with Agile ways of working

**Desirable** **Requirements**:

- Hands-on and leadership experience in data engineering/cloud environment
- Experience with Cloud Computing and big data architectures and engineering
- Ability to independently conduct various analytics on pharma commercial data,
- Experience in building Data solutions embedded in marketing platforms such as, CRM, SFMC, Web ecosystems, social media, etc.
- Recognised externally as a Data leader via publications, external presentations, etc.
