We're Happy Scribe, a 100% bootstrapped and profitable startup based in Barcelona, on a mission to make the internet accessible.

We offer transcription and subtitling services that combine AI with the expertise of language professionals to create a 5-star product. We're working on one of the fundamental problems of this decade: speech-to-text technology.

We're just 20 people at the moment, but growing fast and profitable (€4.8M ARR) and we're building the team thoughtfully and with a lot of care.

**About the Role**:
So far Giulia, our Internal Operations Manager, has been leading office management, quite literally keeping a roof over our heads and putting food on our table, as well as overseeing our finances. Now, as we continue to grow, it's time for her to dig deeper into the financial aspect of her work and for us to welcome a new member to our team. Your role as Workplace & Culture Manager will be crucial in ensuring our office runs smoothly, efficiently, and most importantly, keeps our team happy.

You'll be the go-to person for the team, making sure everyone feels supported and happy. We want our office to be a place where people enjoy coming to work, and you'll play a pivotal role in making that happen. We believe that ensuring our workplace is a welcoming and supportive environment where our team can be their best selves is essential in producing a top-notch product.

Your main challenge will be to create efficient workflows and procedures, starting from scratch, and improving existing ones. As you establish and improve office processes, you will be encouraged to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions that enhance productivity and employee satisfaction.

**What You'll Do**:
Your work will revolve around two main areas, workplace management and team culture, reporting to our Internal Operations Manager, Giulia.

**Workplace Management** will be your main area of focus. Here you will:

- Manage office supply inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for office-related services, such as cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
- Establish and oversee policies and procedures related to office space management (including desk assignments, office moves, and equipment inventory).
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for office security, including access control and visitor management.
- Plan and oversee office renovations or moves, ensuring mínimal disruption to daily operations.
- Manage office budgets and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and furthering our **Team Culture —** collaborating on some projects with Claudia (Head of People) — by:

- Creating and overseeing employee recognition programs, team-building events, team’s birthday, anniversary milestones, yearly bootcamps, and other activities that foster a positive work environment.
- Collaborating with senior management to design and execute initiatives that support company values and goals.
- Promoting an inclusive workplace where diversity and inclusion are valued and celebrated.
- Monitoring and evaluating workplace morale and employee satisfaction levels through surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Developing and implementing projects to enhance workplace culture, employee engagement, and productivity.

**What You'll Bring**:
Here is the ideal person we have in mind for this role:

- You're fluent in **English and Spanish** (Catalan is a plus)
- You have 3+ years experience in **managing a workplace** (this can mean anything from a co-working to a restaurant; hospitality background is a plus).
- You have excellent **communication and interpersonal skills**, with the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organisation.
- You **love people** and consider your relationships a treasure.
- You're experienced with event organisation and possess strong **organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.**
- You have a great **attention to detail**.
- You value **autonomy**, independence, and trust in your work.
