At the heart of everything we do, they inspire us to grow, raise the bar for our customers and fuel a pet-first business.A Vendor Manager is responsible for managing the relationship with external vendors for zooplus. The role involves overseeing aspects of vendor interactions, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management and ongoing communication. It also includes improving the performance and profitability of the assigned vendor(s) by strategically managing various aspects of their brands lifecycle, including sourcing, pricing, promotion, and assortment directly or by coordination with the respective departments (Logistics, Pricing, Finance, Marketing etc.).
- Support in Contract negotiation: Supporting the Lead or Senior VM in negotiating terms and conditions of contracts with vendors to ensure favorable terms for the company while also meeting the needs of both parties.
- Support in Contract management: Supporting the Lead or Senior VM Monitoring and enforcing compliance with contract terms, including service level agreements (SLAs), delivery schedules, and pricing agreements.
- Supplier management: managing the relationship with the supplier in those areas under their responsibility (promotions, marketing, assortment....)
- Performance analysis: Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margins, inventory turnover, and share to identify areas for improvement and optimize Manufacturer performance.
- Support in Strategic planning: Supporting the Lead or Senior VM in Developing and implementing long-term strategies or even Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned with the company's overall objectives, market trends, and customer preferences.
- Assortment planning: Selecting and managing the assortment of products to meet customer demand and drive sales.
- Pricing and promotion: working together with the sales and pricing departments to maximize revenue and profitability through the analysis of: competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to set optimal pricing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Product lifecycle management: Managing the entire lifecycle of products for the supplier, from introduction to retirement, including new product development, inventory management, and clearance strategies.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborating with various internal teams, including marketing, sales, pricing, operations, and finance, to align category strategies with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution.
- Market research and trend analysis: Staying informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive activities through market research, data analysis, and industry insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

**Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of relevant work experience in Category Management, Vendor Management or Purchasing, ideally in retailing or the pet industry; experience working in traditional retail or e-commerce is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and ability to structure complex facts.
- Ability to unlock complex issues and to work proactively on proposals, solution thinking.
- Ability to understand customer needs and market requirements to enhance the customer experience.
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Influencing abilities and vendor management experience.
- Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating.
- Business fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
- Product and industry knowledge in pet, retail or FMCG industry.
- Proficient MS-Office (especially Excel and Power Point)
