**Context And Mission
The Language Technology Group in the Life Science Department is looking for a Master's student to work in the field of Machine Translation involving Catalan. This work will be part of the ongoing AINA project to generate technology and language resources for the Catalan language.

**Key Duties
- Participate in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions.
- Preparation and presentation of scientific articles.
- Collaborate in the preparation and presentation of scientific projects.
- Collaborate with the members of the group in the generation and evaluation of resources in Catalan

**Requirements
Education
- BA in linguistics, translation or similar, with a background in computation Master courses in computational linguistics

Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Programming skills (mainly python but also some bash) Ability to access and evaluate scientific literature.

Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Native competence in Catalan
- Good knowledge of Spanish.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. Strong interest in NLP, Computational Semantics and Machine Translation.

Competences
- Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team.

**Conditions
- The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan,
