The Salesforce Legal Team delivers innovative, trusted and outstanding legal services to advance and protect Salesforce’s interests, while creating a fulfilling work environment for our legal family. Salesforce seeks to hire a Corporate Counsel in its EMEA Privacy Team. This position will report to London-based Senior Corporate Counsel and will be a hybrid position, preferably based in Salesforce’s offices in Madrid or Barcelona. This person will work with groups internally as well as with Salesforce's customers on privacy and data protection-related issues. This individual will partner closely with the Privacy, Product, and Technology Legal team and other teams within Legal in addition to various departments across the company, including Security; Technology Marketing & Products; Government Affairs; Compliance; Communications; and Employee Success.
**Responsibilities**:
- Be a resident expert on EMEA privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation, E-Privacy Directive, Schrems II and related decisions/guidance
- Work with customers, prospective customers, and partners on privacy-related questions related to using Salesforce's services
- Partner with internal teams and outside counsel to help ensure the company's compliance with laws, regulations, and privacy obligations in customer contracts
- Conduct privacy assessments of business initiatives, manage privacy compliance documentation, and help with compliance certifications
- Assist in developing and maintaining privacy policies and procedures, as well as strategic internal and external communications
- Develop training materials and provide training to employees on privacy-related obligations
- Work with our government affairs team to help influence privacy-related laws
- Prepare content for our websites and other promotional privacy initiatives
Required Skills/Experience:
- UK/European law degree
- At least four years total experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- At least two years in-depth experience on European privacy and data protection issues
- Fluent written and verbal English language skills required
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in the culture of a fast-paced, commercially oriented technology company
- Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
- Highly responsive and reactive attitude
- Collaborative teammate with ability to work independently
- Sound and practical business judgment
- Sense of humor
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Certified Information Privacy Professional or BCS/ISEB Data Protection Practitioner Certificate
