Senior Financial Analyst - Finance Operations (f/m/d)

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and pre-transform accounting data from source systems, ERP and finance tools to support financial bookings and close processes
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that feed accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Ensure accuracy, traceability and auditability of the financial data inputs you build

Automated Reconciliations

  • Design and build automated reconciliation processes between source systems, ERP and downstream reporting, reducing manual reconciliation work for accounting teams
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks, escalating systemic or recurring issues to the Financial Data Team Leader
  • Work with the Financial Data Team Leader to refine requirements and manage the delivery backlog for reconciliation and pipeline work

Process Optimization

  • Build automation that removes manual data manipulation from accounting teams' day-to-day work
  • Support the efficiency and reliability of month-end close by keeping data flows and reconciliations running smoothly
  • Flag recurring data quality issues at source and work with Data Engineering to fix them upstream
  • Proactively identifies data gaps, quality issues and process inefficiencies and proposes solutions
  • Develop reporting to support accounting and operational finance processes such as: Credit control and collections, Working capital monitoring, Revenue operational reconciliation, Transaction-level financial controls
  • Provide accountants with visibility into financial process drivers and anomalies

Data Governance

  • Apply consistent data definitions in your builds, flagging inconsistencies to the Financial Data Team Leader
  • Work with Finance Systems to maintain alignment between source systems and ERP structures

Key Skills

  • 3+ years experience in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics
  • Comfortable working across finance and data teams to get reconciliation and reporting builds right
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes (close cycle, revenue recognition, reconciliations, working capital)
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into data specifications
  • Comfortable engaging with Finance Operations stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear technical specifications
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with the rigor reconciliation and financial control work demands
  • Strong process improvement mindset ( thinking about the end user, iterating based on feedback, and caring about the quality and reliability of what they deliver)
  • Ability to structure complex financial data problems
  • Capable of communicating complex problems to all level of stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Business or Analytics related field
  • Studying towards or holding AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (advantageous, not required)
  • Fluent English; an additional European language is advantageous given the multi-location remit but not essential
  • Strong SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and working with large transactional datasets
  • Experience working with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), Python experience is a plus
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial data structures
  • Understanding of data pipelines and data modelling concepts; familiarity with Finance Data Warehouse concepts is a plus
