We are looking for a Legal Counsel with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Legal team and provide broad legal support across our renewable energy business in Spain and internationally.

This is a hands-on and highly transversal role, offering exposure to a wide range of legal matters and the opportunity to work closely with different business areas throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy projects.

The role will have a particular focus on Compliance and Corporate matters, while also supporting the Legal team on commercial, regulatory, land and contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance: support the development and ongoing monitoring of the Company’s Compliance Program, including compliance policies and procedures, risk assessments, internal controls, training and awareness initiatives, and monitoring of compliance requirements.
  • Corporate / Company Secretarial: support the corporate governance and company secretarial matters of the Group’s entities, including preparation of corporate resolutions, coordination with notaries and the Commercial Registry, preparation and follow-up of public deeds and maintenance of corporate records.
  • Commercial Contracts: draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in connection with the Group’s activities, including NDAs, services agreements, consultancy agreements, collaboration agreements and other project-related contracts.
  • Land: assist the Legal team in relation to land agreements and land rights required for the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
  • Regulatory: assist the Legal team and the business in regulatory matters affecting renewable energy projects, including monitoring regulatory developments and providing legal analysis and support on regulatory requirements.
  • Administrative and Litigation: support the preparation and follow-up of administrative submissions, allegations and appeals, as well as contentious matters and litigation, working alongside external counsel where appropriate.
  • Cross-functional Legal Support: provide legal support on a wide variety of matters handled by the Legal team, working closely with Development, Construction, Operations, Finance and other business functions in Spain and overseas.
  • External Counsel Management: assist with the coordination and management of external legal advisers, including monitoring matters, deliverables, deadlines and legal costs.
  • Legal Knowledge Management: contribute to the development and maintenance of templates, precedents, internal policies and legal processes, helping to ensure consistency and efficiency across the Group.

What we are looking for

  • Spanish Law degree and approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably gained in a law firm.
  • Good knowledge of Corporate Law, Compliance and Commercial Contracting.
  • Interest in, or previous experience with, the renewable energy sector.
  • Previous experience in administrative proceedings, regulatory matters or litigation will be considered a plus.
  • A proactive and pragmatic approach, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek support.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical teams, translating legal issues into practical and commercially minded solutions.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken, with the ability to work in an international environment.
