Postdoctoral Researcher – Alzheimer’s Disease‑Modifying Nanomedicines (Ppcc‑Adnano)Join us to apply for the Postdoctoral Researcher – Alzheimer’s Disease‑Modifying Nanomedicines (Ppcc‑Adnano role at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) .IBEC is an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork, the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community.With the aim to recruit research staff for one of the sixteen Collaborative Projects selected in Catalonia within the framework of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology in Catalonia, this selection process is open.This Complementary Plan is co‑funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Generalitat de Catalunya under the C17.I1 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).Research ContextIBEC Molecular Bionics, Nanobioengineering, and Molecular and Cellular Neurobiotechnology groups, in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona – Institute of Neuroscience, the San Paú Hospital Memory Unit, and the Achucarro Basque Centre for Neuroscience, are building a research team to design Alzheimer’s disease‑modifying nanomedicines.We will synthesize block copolymer amphiphilic co‑polyesters comprising anti‑inflammatory metabolites for the creation of nanomedicines targeted to the blood‑brain barrier. The approach will combine multivalent interactions with steric repulsion to generate association profiles based on cell‑receptor composition.The project (ADNano) will be developed within the “Alzheimer’s disease‑modifying Nanomedicines” framework, co‑financed by the European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR‑C17.I1).ResponsibilitiesSynthesize sequenced controlled polyesters.Self‑assemble and characterize micelles.Conjugate and characterize LRP ligands to micelles.Assess BBB crossing and anti‑inflammatory activity.QualificationsPhD in Polymer Chemistry, Nanomedicine, Bioengineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.Prior experience in step and controlled polymerizations.Previous experience in micelle or vesicle characterization.Competencies and skills: communication, teamwork and collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking.High level of English.Advantageous: prior experience with block copolymer micelles for drug delivery and biomedical applications; experience with blood‑brain barrier in‑vitro models.Working ConditionsFull‑time 18‑month contract.
