Postdoctoral Researcher – Neurobiological Assessment of Alzheimer’s Disease–Modifying Nanomedicine Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) Overview IBEC, an interdisciplinary research centre located in Barcelona, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to the “Alzheimer’s disease-modifying Nanomedicines” (ADNano) project. The role is part of a collaborative initiative involving IBEC’s Molecular Bionics, Nanobioengineering, and Molecular and Cellular Neurobiotechnology groups, the Autonomous University of Barcelona – Institute of Neuroscience, San Pau Hospital Memory Unit, and the Achucarro Basque Centre for Neuroscience. Research Focus Characterise phenotypic nanomedicines that:(i) control cargo low‑density lipoprotein receptor–related protein (LRP) expression;(ii) scavenge amyloid‑β (Aβ) and tau in the brain;(iii) release anti‑inflammatory agents. Responsibilities Develop and refine blood‑brain barrier models for drug delivery studies. Conduct in‑vitro and in‑vivo investigations of AD animal models. Perform microglial anti‑inflammatory activity assays. Carry out behavioural assessments to evaluate neurobiological outcomes. Analyse and publish neurobiological and cognitive data generated from these studies. Essential Qualifications PhD in Neuroscience, Nanomedicine, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline. Prior experience with neurodegeneration and Alzheimer’s disease models. Prior experience in neuro‑inflammation research. Strong communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills. High level of English proficiency. Advantageous Qualifications Experience with brain vasculature and transport mechanisms. Experience in nanomedicine development. Working Conditions Position: 1 postdoctoral researcher. Start date: between 1 April and 15 May. Contract: 18‑month full‑time.
