The Clinical Medical Office Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is part of the Specialty Health Care Department and is a part-time  role working approximately 64 hours per two-week pay period . This position supports daily clinical and office operations by providing direct patient care and coordinating clerical functions to ensure efficient patient flow, quality care delivery, and a positive patient experience. The role works closely with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to deliver safe, professional, and patient-centered care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Clinical Medical Office Assistant: Minimum of one year of experience in a physician practice or clinical office setting preferred Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program Current Ohio LPN license required BLS certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment Knowledge of infection prevention principles Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on urgency Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and use of electronic medical records (EPIC preferred) Knowledge of basic medical procedures and medical terminology preferred Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, teamwork, and a strong customer service focus Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under the guidance of licensed providers and nursing staff Perform a combination of clinical and clerical duties to support daily office operations Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient flow and diagnostic or treatment procedures Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and pertinent clinical information Collect specimens and perform basic clinical tasks as requested Schedule appointments, procedures, and referrals; obtain pre-certifications and authorizations as needed Answer telephones, greet patients, and manage patient communications professionally Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in accordance with policies and infection prevention standards Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless care delivery Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards Perform other duties as assigned
