Software Development Engineer, Business Innovation

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Business team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and building innovative solutions to enable business customers to buy business, industrial, and scientific products with confidence and at the right price.
Our team is focused on building solutions that cater to the unique needs of business customers, who require high-frequency or bulk purchases. You will work with new technologies to improve usability, increase performance, and scalability, and help redefine normal for the business ecommerce market.
Key Responsibilities- Design and code solutions to complex problems, starting with broadly defined problems.
- Build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
- Organize and participate in collaborative Q&A sessions, workshops, and presentations to share your technical know-how.
- Mentor more junior team members in their career growth.
- Experience in professional software development, including building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written English in a business setting.
