Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our EMEA Bulk Elemental Unit, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent our company in a professional manner, providing top-notch service to customers, both internal and external.
  • Travel frequently to Spain, Portugal, and other countries in EMEA, providing on-site support and training to customers.
  • Own and deliver service commitments, including installations, repairs, data analysis, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and training on X-Ray fluorescence Spectrometers and optical emission spectrometers.
  • Provide remote or on-site services within agreed conditions, setting priorities and ensuring timely completion.
  • Prepare and submit service reports, documentation, and protocols to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by building strong relationships and promoting excellent customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with commercial colleagues to deliver customer deals that meet or exceed expectations and are profitable for the company.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement Business System.
Requirements
  • Diploma or equivalent education in electrical engineering, chemistry, engineering, or technical training in electronics or a related field.
  • Five years of work experience in technical services, with a focus on field service or strong service knowledge.
  • Preferable knowledge of heavy industrial processes, such as metallurgy, mining, geology, and geochemistry.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a passion for electromechanical, software, and application issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in challenging situations.
  • Good knowledge of electronics and mechanics.
  • Customer-friendly and professional demeanor.
  • PC literacy, including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Self-organized and effective.
