Job Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team in Spain. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their equipment is running at optimal levels, and providing technical support and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific in a professional manner, building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Travel frequently to customer sites in Spain and other countries in EMEA, providing on-site technical support and training.
- Deliver service commitments, complete installations, repairs, data analysis, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and training on X-Ray fluorescence Spectrometers and optical emission spectrometers.
- Provide remote or on-site services within agreed conditions, setting accurate priorities and maintaining high-quality documentation.
- Partner with commercial colleagues to deliver customer deals that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement Business System.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent education in electrical engineering, chemistry, engineering, or technical training in electronics or the chemical field.
- Five years of work experience in technical services, with field service experience or strong service knowledge.
- Knowledge of heavy industrial processes, such as metallurgy, mining, geology, and geochemistry.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
- Ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations.
- Good knowledge of electronics and mechanics, customer friendliness, and a professional demeanor.
- PC literacy, including MS Office and Outlook, and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
