About the Role
This internship provides an exciting opportunity to learn and understand the role of The International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the aviation industry. As part of the European Regional Operations, Safety and Security (OSS), Airports Infrastructure and Security team, you will gain experience and knowledge while supporting the team's efforts in airport capacity, passenger facilitation, and airport charges.
A Day in the Life
You will be responsible for:
- Understanding and supporting the team's efforts in infrastructure and customer experience/facilitation-related activities in the European Region.
- Helping the team with daily communications to relevant industry stakeholders such as airline members, local associations, EUROCONTROL, and airports.
- In close cooperation with the team, participating in developing IATA studies, cost models, planning, and documents related to airport and passenger facilitation issues.
- Getting to know and supporting the airport infrastructure and customer experience teams with different campaign activities, including follow-up with airports and states.
- Helping organize and prepare the Regional Airports Steering group and the European Facilitation focus group meetings in Madrid.
- Providing assistance in various meetings.
- Learning about and participating in the development of position papers.
- Assisting in other administrative duties, as requested.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Recently graduated or currently completing a University degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline.
- Some knowledge of air navigation, air traffic management, safety operations, and financial analysis.
- Outstanding research skills, report writing, and creating presentations.
- Notable organizational abilities, expertise prioritizing tasks, and capability working in a team environment.
- Interest in various subjects and are a highly motivated individual.
- Excellent PC skills using Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, knowledge of other languages will be an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, commensurate with your qualifications and experience. We also provide excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
