Job Description

AXA XL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Paris, France. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide support for the activities of AXA XL France on a wide range of legal matters, both French and international.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a point of contact and work closely with underwriting departments to propose solutions that comply with applicable law and meet the needs of AXA XL's clients and partners.
  • Independently manage various projects and deadlines, providing assistance to AXA XL teams on complex legal issues.
  • Review and validate various technical contractual documents, including confidentiality agreements, mandates, co-reinsurance agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel for France in dealing with various complex projects and requests, as well as regulatory related matters.
  • Contribute to monitoring legal and regulatory developments, with a specific focus on insurance and insurance distribution rules, contract and commercial law, financial crime regulation, and others relevant to the XLIVSE French branch and their clients' business.
Requirements
  • 10 years of professional experience as a Lawyer, either in-house or in private practice.
  • Master's degree in private Law, preferably insurance law.
  • Specialized in insurance law, including global programs expertise, and related litigations.
  • French mother tongue, proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential – another language of the region would be a plus.
  • Organizational skills and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing needs and priorities.
  • Proactivity, ability to work independently, and aptitude for collaboration within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
