As a Power Converter Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of power converter components for high-capacity wind energy applications. Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • In-depth understanding of power electronics topologies and components.
  • Modeling converters using tools such as PSIM, Matlab, and PLECS, focusing on hardware aspects including topology and component design.
  • Reviewing specifications, standards, and documentation to clarify hardware requirements for converters.
  • Creating technical specifications and design reports for essential power components such as heatsinks, busbars, capacitors, semiconductors, and cooling systems.
  • Conducting thermal analysis of power converters to support cooling concepts and thermal modeling.
  • Validating power components and participating in converter validation to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Collaborating with various engineering teams to facilitate product testing and certifications.
  • Supporting presales, commissioning, and aftersales activities, providing high-level product support.

What We Are Looking For

We seek individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in power electronics converter design, preferably for high-power applications (greater than 100 kW).
  • Experience in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to power converters, with commissioning experience being a plus.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Matlab, Python, Simulink, PSIM, and PLECS.
  • A methodical and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with critical and logical thinking skills.
