We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-power converters for multimegawatt wind applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power electronics converters for wind turbines, focusing on hardware topics such as power topologies and component design.
  • Review requirements, standards, and documentation to clarify and understand converter hardware requirements.
  • Develop technical specifications and design reports for main power components, including heatsinks, busbars, capacitors, semiconductors, and HW protections.
  • Perform thermal analysis of power converters, including cooling concept and thermal modeling support.
  • Validate power components and participate in converter validation to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to support product testing and certifications.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in power electronics converter design, preferably in high-power applications (over 100 kW).
  • Experience in analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving of power converters, with commissioning experience being valuable.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in SW tools such as Matlab, Python, Simulink, PSIM, and PLECS.
