Job Title: Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-power converters for wind applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power electronics converters for wind applications, including converter modeling, thermal analysis, and component selection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure converter design meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and design reports for power components, including heatsinks, busbars, capacitors, semiconductors, and HW protections.
  • Participate in converter validation and testing to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Contribute to double sourcing activities and support product testing and certifications.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in power electronics converter design, preferably in high-power applications (over 100 kW).
  • Experience in analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving of power converters, with commissioning experience being a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in SW tools such as Matlab, Python, Simulink, PSIM, and PLECS.
  • Methodical and practical approach to problem-solving, autonomy, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
