Job Overview

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is a leading research center in life sciences, and we are seeking an experienced Technical Research Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in coordinating the IMPaCT Data Science program, working closely with stakeholders within and outside the BSC.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to work on a high-profile project that aims to establish an interoperable framework for biomedical data integration and analysis. As a Technical Research Manager, you will be responsible for planning resource utilization, monitoring project progress, and ensuring seamless coordination with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate technical tasks and ensure timely completion of projects involving multiple partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, consortium agreements, NDAs, grant agreements, and other contractual documents.
  • Organize project meetings, teleconferences, reviews, and other events to ensure effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Maintain open communication with project stakeholders and participate in regular meetings and discussions.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • University degree with a strong foundation in life sciences or IT.
  • At least two years' experience in research management and project proposal preparation, preferably in life sciences/IT.
  • Experience developing project technical specifications and coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission, Spanish Plan Estatal, or bilateral contracts with companies.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
