Job Title: Research Project Manager

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is a leading supercomputing center in Spain, housing MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. We are seeking a highly skilled Research Project Manager to join our team and manage the full lifecycle of research projects within our Project Management Office (PMO).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and communicate funding opportunities for assigned research groups, maintaining a call calendar for proposal planning.
  • Lead proposal management, including defining and writing the management section of project proposals and coordinating contributions from partners.
  • Negotiate and supervise contract drafting and signing, ensuring BSC's and researchers' interests are protected.
  • Plan resource use, monitor work progress, maintain communication with principal investigators, and prepare high-quality periodic reports.
Requirements:
  • University degree with related courses in project management and research project proposal preparation a plus.
  • At least three years of experience in European research project management.
  • Additional knowledge and professional experience in coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission is an advantage.
Competencies:
  • Fluency in English essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Good skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalents).
Conditions:
  • The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department.
  • We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, and private health insurance.
  • Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
  • Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
