Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Cummins. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple cross-functional projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful project completion, and leading multiple cross-functional projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, develop, and implement programs composed of multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
  • Lead multiple cross-functional projects from inception to completion; facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project.
  • Work with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; design project plans, develop timelines, identify project milestones, and track performance against performance goals and timelines.
  • Identify, track, and work with others to resolve project issues.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to the project team.
  • Plan and monitor project budgets, conduct research and analysis, and provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  • Manage project risk; use quality tools to identify areas of risk; identify alternatives or solutions; apply motivational techniques to broad-based organizational change issues.
  • Leverage experience of cross-functional resources and resources external to the project team; document and share team learnings with other teams; draw on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
  • Ensure that project documentation is complete; monitor, measure, and communicate with the Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on the status of specific projects and assignments.
  • Identify and assign appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guide and coach team members through various stages of the project; provide developmental feedback to team members; coach other Project Managers in managing teams.
Requirements
  • Schedule Management - Manages the project schedule using recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
  • Scope Management - Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
  • Project Resource Management - Develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
  • Project Issue and Risk Management - Manages the process to identify, assess, and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events.
  • Customer Focus - Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
  • Manages Complexity - Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Plans and Aligns - Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manages Conflict - Handles conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.
  • Communicates Effectively - Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
Education and Experience

College, university, or equivalent degree required. Significant level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required. PM is responsible for assisting with managing project risk, using quality tools to identify areas of risks. Real focus on HSE in order to minimize project risks. Technical education and background are required. Experience in contract review and management is required. Experience in a similar position (10-15 years) is required. Experience in oil and gas business, power generation business, and/or OEM companies is valuable. Experience in management of multidisciplinary teams is required. Experience in EPC contract execution is valuable.
