Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team at Primark. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management and coordination of all European store deliveries across 14 countries from 6 Distribution Centres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals to ensure the smooth operation of transportation services.
- Develop and implement cost-effective transportation solutions to meet business needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with hauliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management on transportation performance.
- Manage a budget of €60m and make recommendations for cost savings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in transportation operations management, preferably in a retail or fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning and scheduling systems.
- Experience in change management and continuous improvement methodology.
- National or European recognized transport qualification.
- Good knowledge of current EU transport legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Commercially focused with a strong understanding of end-to-end costs.
